The Center of Traditional Taoist Studies is a non-profit 501(C)(3) theological and educational organization dedicated to promoting Taoism throughout the United States and the world. The Center's curriculum includes traditional Taoist philosophy, religious instruction, holistic fitness programs, and meditation. Founded by Grand Master Alex Anatole in 1978, the Center is open six days each week with programs including Chi Quong, meditation, philosophy, and religious observances.
The Center operates the Temple of Original Simplicity, a Taoist temple committed to resurrecting the traditional practices of ancient Taoism. As such, it houses a rare collection of consecrated icons allowing its congregation to participate in spiritual activities originating from Taoism's earliest times. This commitment to the uncorrupted teachings of Lao Tzu brings to life a religion uniquely designed to develop mind, body, and spirit.
